The Certificate II Financial Services course is perfect for those looking to gain knowledge about the financial services industry. This qualification is intended to address the need for increased financial literacy and basic financial skills of entrants wishing to build potential pathways into the industry. This course can be completed online or in a classroom environment as part of a VET program The course content will assist those seeking a career in the Financial Services industry or as a small business proprietor. The course is also designed to assist those looking to enter the workforce generally and provides valuable knowledge and skills applicable to the current Australian workplace environment.

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 8 

4 core units plus 

4 elective units , of which:

  • at least 2 must be from the elective units listed below
  • up to 2 may be from this qualification or any other currently endorsed Certificate II or above training package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid industry-supported vocational outcome.

No equivalent qualification. Supersedes and is not equivalent to FNS20115 Certificate II in Financial Services.

Learning outcomes

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Use the Microsoft Office suite, with a strong focus on Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Establish client relationships and analyse client needs
  • Process customer complaints and resolve disputes
  • Use industry standard systems
  • Perform financial calculations and reconcile financial transactions
  • Monitor and control customer accounts
