This qualification reflects the role of pest management technicians who are required to
identify common urban pests, assess pest problems, consider pest management options,
develop pest management plans, liaise with customers and implement pest management
strategies.
In most cases, technicians work alone with responsibility for managing chemicals and
equipment used for pest management and stored in pest management vehicles.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to pest management in
some states and territories. For further information, check with the relevant regulatory
authority.


Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for the qualification.
Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
 10 units of competency
 5 core
 5 elective units.
Up to 2 elective units may be selected from any training package, as long as they contribute to
a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome and maintain the AQF level of this
qualification.
